The ability to remove interfering sources is highly important to the reliable operation of GPS. Research activities developing practical systems that can demonstrate the ability to do this in the field have been developed and tested. These have included temporal spatial and combined space-time processing techniques. To support this work, a multi-channel, high-dynamic-range data collection unit has been designed which will allow raw interference data to be collected on the field, analysed and re-played through different anti-jam units.
Another important aspect of GPS interference mitigation is
geo-location of GPS interferences. Research is currently underway
into the most effective way to localise multiple GPS interference
sources using relatively low cost platforms.
